cartonormdb~ External Computes the amplitude in decibels of an fft bin, normalized to value in first bin of each fft group. This form of db computation is typically used to analyze the spectral effects of a window.
cartopol~ External Cartesian to polar coordinate conversion.
cascade~ External A cascaded series of biquad filters, useful in conjunction with the filtergraph~ implementation.
catch~ External catch~ outputs the sum of all inputs to throw~ objects that are being sent to it.
catch~ outputs the sum of all inputs to throw~ objects that are being sent to it.The throw~ objects may be reassigned, allowing signal paths to be changed dynamically
cavoc27~ External 27 rule cellular automata (CA).
cavoc~ External cavoc~ is an 8 rule cellular automata that generates spectra. Start with very low gain.
cda External Python script which gives audio CD support for Windows : import .cda tracks into [buffer~], retrieve CD infos from CDDB (artist, title, track names...). Requires [Pyext] external, Python 2.4.x and some additional python modules.
Warning ! For Python lovers only (or for CD fanatics) :

As there's still no cd support in max/Msp for windows, it is an attempt to provide one. It is written in python and runs through the great [pyext] object, which is a python wrapper for max/Msp, by Thomas Grill. Luckily, it's really stable, and relatively fast ! When the device is "cold", it takes 5s for importing 2 megs and about 30s for a 4-5min file. Same or faster than Sound Forge, and already in your buffer~ ! Last but not least, it doesn't interrupt MSP process while importing...
centerring~ External frequency modulation
centerring~ performs frequency independent amplitude modulation upon the spectral magnitudes of input signals. The effect is somewhat akin to flanging. The base frequency is used to derive the frequency of an oscillator associated with each frequency band. The frequency bandwidth and constant control the deviation of a particular frequency band's modulation oscillator frequency.
centroid~ External object for computation of spectral centroid
change~ External Detect signal change and direction
chase~ External three-way signal comparator
cheb~ External a low/high pass filter using a Chebyshev/Butterworth algorithm
chopper~ External algorithmic buffer
chuck~ External [chuck~] encapsulates the ChucK music programming language in max/msp
Version 1.6 (Max5) of the [chuck~] Max/MSP object
is available for free download:

http://music.columbia.edu/~brad/chuck~/

for Macintosh OS X (10.5/6).

The new [chuck~] object is up-to-date with the latest (v 1.2.1.3)
release of the ChucK language, including the LiSa live-sampling
unit generators and the unit-analysis generators in the
1.2.1.3 package.

[chuck~] imbeds the ChucK music-programming language in Max/MSP,
bringing a sophisticated set of synthesis and signal-processing tools
into the Max/MSP environment. [chuck~] also features an advanced
timing and scheduling system in addition to a functional-style
programming interface for algorithmic operations. Full source for
the object and the language are also on-line.

No Windows version is available at present -- sorry!

This is a fun object -- enjoy it! For more information about ChucK,
visit the ChucK web page:
