12tone Patch This patch is meant to be used as a subpatch in other patches. Its function is to cycle through a 12 tone serial row.
aMente Patch algorithmic generator
A compositional tool in the studio. Can be played in real time like an instrument. Works by applying various patterns to musical parameters: Rhythm Pitch - Velocity - Duration - Voice.
The player controlls the patterns. The patterns may be preconstructed themes or various serial and chaotic processes. Useful as a composition tool or performance instrument.Manipulate a theme, range or set in real time, improvising with theories.
AsyncSerial External Interface with serial devices. Provides improved functionality over the builtin [serial] object.
An external object for Max/MSP on Mac OSX that interfaces with serial devices. This is intended to provide more useful functionality than the built-in [serial] object. Namely, [AsyncSerial] listens for incoming data on a separate thread and spits it out whenever it arrives. It does not need to be polled. This is similar to how UDPReceive works, and thus similar care must be taken when dealing with multithreaded Max-patches. [AsyncSerial] can also have its input buffer flushed, which is necessary when sending commands to a device and awaiting a reply. [AsyncSerial] can also be put in and out of \\\'canonical\\\' input mode, in which data is only spit out once a newline char \\\'\\\\n\\\' is received, which is useful for parsing text-based replies. [AsyncSerial] also allows users to set VMIN and VTIME, as described in the unix manual, sub verbo \\\'termios\\\'. [AsyncSerial] can either output received data as a sequence of bytes, as [serial] does, or as a list of text symbols, which is useful with canonic input processing.
atoi External character to integer conversion.
atoi converts a symbol, list, int, or float into a list of up to 255 integers. This can be useful for formatting messages into a stream of sysex bytes or serial commands. Both inlets receive any message, convert to a character string, and output a list of int values. The first inlet immediately translates and transmits. It also responds to bang, outputting what is in the buffer. The second inlet is used to concatenate to what is in the buffer.
dmxusbpro External The dmxusbpro external gives access to the Enttec DMX USB Pro interface and allows to send or receive DMX data.
The dmxusbpro external for Max and Pure Data gives access to the Enttec DMX USB Pro interface and allows to send or receive DMX 512 data.

dmxusbpro features:

* send or receive up to 512 channels of DMX data
* user setable refresh rate
* user setable start-code
* user setable break and mark-after-break time
* update the firmaware of the interface
* query available serial ports to find connected interfaces
* query device's serial number
dot.serial Abstraction An abstraction containing the serial object, with menu generation and built-in polling and repeated-reading functionality.
EAMIR - Slider Standalone Application Slider is a touchscreen musical interface that converts graphical table data into a linear array of musical notes.

created by V.J. Manzo
Slider is a touchscreen musical interface that converts graphical table data into a linear array of musical notes. The slider software is run on a touchscreen computer which allows the table data to be entered by physically touching the graphical interface. Each point in the table is analyzed serially and yields a note. The notes are played back at user variable rhythm which can be changed by touching a rhythmic value icon at the left. The tempo can be changed as well. When a user touches the screen, the points are read and produce notes. The higher the line appears when it is read, the higher the note will sound. A keyboard appears beneath the table to reflect the pitch of the point currently being analyzed. By default, notes are read “up and down” that is, from left to right to left. This option can be changed to have notes read up (from left to right only) and down (from right to left only). Like all EAMIR software, the slider software can be customized to work with the sounds of any type of synthesizer. By default, the slider software will filter all of the notes to the 7 pitch classes of the C Major scale. The tonic and mode can be changed at any time by selecting from one of the 11 pitch classes or one of the 28 diatonic modes at the bottom left of the screen. User made patterns can be stored and recalled with ease by shift+clicking in the preset grid.

group-rhythm Abstraction rythm generator
Generates a rhythm by choosing elements of a given supply (provided by a geometrical row with its parameters: minimum entry delay, maximum entry delay and number of entry delays) and repeating a chosen value according to the periodicity parameter. This modules incorporates the "Gruppen"-theory of Karlheinz Stockhausen ("...wie die Zeit vergeht...", in: "die reihe", Vol. 3, Vienna 1957) and reflects some considerations of Gottfried Michael Koenig about serialism and aleatory ("Aleatorische und serielle Verfahren in der elektronischen Musik", in: Die Sonde, Vol. 5/1, Bonn 1965).
gvp100 External gvp100 is an interface to an ECHOlab DV7 video switcher
gvp100 is an interface to an ECHOlab DV7 video switcher, which utilizes the Grass Valley Protocol. It sends commands to a serialX object, which controls the serial port that the video switcher is attached to, and responds to data returned from the video switcher via the serialX object.
ldp1550 External ldp1550 is an interface to the Sony Corporation LDP-1550 Laser Disk Player (LDP).
ldp1550 is an interface to the Sony Corporation LDP-1550 Laser Disk Player (LDP). It sends commands to a serial or serialX object, which controls the serial port that the LDP is attached to, and responds to data returned from the LDP via the serial or serialX object.
Ltag External An object to prepend incoming data with a serial number.
mtc External mtc is an interface to the Tactex Controls multi-touch controller (MTC)
mtc is an interface to the Tactex Controls multi-touch controller (MTC). It sends commands to a serialX object, which controls the serial port that the MTC is attached to, and responds to data returned from the MTC via the serialX object
op.dmxusbpro Abstraction op.DMXUSBPro is an abstraction for controlling the Enttec DMX USB Pro.
The serial protocol is rather simple:
126 6 (channel nb+1) 0 0 (channel1 channel2 channel3 …) 231
play2 Abstraction Plays a note whenever a key number is sent to the left inlet.
Plays a note whenever a key number is sent to the left inlet. The other parameters (velocity and duration) are optional and can change at any time. - Routes the MIDI-out either to specified serial port (argument: 0) or to the built-in MIDI-synthesizer of QuickTime 2.x (argument 1).

rcx External rcx is an interface to the LEGO MINDSTORMS RCX device
rcx is an interface to the LEGO MINDSTORMS RCX device. It uses the Ghost API from LEGO to connect to the device, using either a USB or serial port. Note that it does not use the serialX or serial objects for this communication.
