gak External genetic algorithm kit
the genetic algorithm toolkit is meant to be a quick way to incorporate genetic algorithms into max projects. you can either create the child's genetic material yourself (manually or randomly), or pass two parent sequences (in the form of a max list) to the gak object. you can then select how you'd like to manipulate this genetic material from a variety of processes (crossover, reverse, shift, transposition & increment/decrement) yourself, or allow the gak to make the decisions for you.

note that if you don't pass new parent sequences (or randomly/manually generate a child sequence) the next time around, the new parents will both be clones of the child. also note that gak only creates one child, but you can hook up a bunch of them if you really want a gaggle of children. then it's up to you to select which one you like best for the next generation.

many thanks to anthony palomba for the windows port.

GLEETCHLAB 3 Standalone Application A realtime modular composition and processing software for sound design and experimental music like glitch, IDM, electroacustic, ambient...
Gleetchlab 3 is a modular software designed to process audio files and live sound sources in realtime.

Unlike many music softwares, gleetchlab does not use a "timeline", instead you can process and record sound as it plays and quckly store every parameter into ten
easy-to-recall temporary presets.

You can manipulate samples with random loop points, alterate speed and direction of playing without limits, pencil-edit waveforms and use the internal DSPs such as convolution, feedback generator, granular re-synthesis, waveshaping distortion, spectral filtering, wow simulation, dynamic reverberation and your own VST plugins.

Also you can record and re-record endlessly each processed sound into the 6 stereo loopers or manipulate sources coming from your soundcard and last but not least, use a quadriphonic suround mixer/recorder.

Gravity Balls Patch This is a Jitter patch that explores physics a little bit. There are 5 colored balls that bounce around the screen, and exert a gravitational force on each other depending on the distance between them and their mass (which you can change).
Gravity Balls 3D Patch This is a Jitter patch that explores physics a little bit. There are 5 colored balls that bounce around the screen, and exert a gravitational force on each other depending on the distance between them and their mass (which you can change).
hpass2~ Abstraction highpass filter
Analogous to hpass1~, this second-order IIR highpass filter is made by subtracting a lowpass filtered version of a signal from the signal itself. Logically, the lowpass filter used is lpass2~, a resonant lowpass filter. As with hpass1~, the cutoff frequency in the second inlet of hpass2~ defines the point at which the low frequencies will start to be attenuated. However, hpass2~ also takes a "damping factor", which controls the slope of the cutoff. Damping values greater than 1.41 produce a mild slope similar to that of hpass1~. However, damping factor values less than 1.41 produce moderate to extreme gain boost around the cutoff frequency, characterizing this filter as a resonant highpass filter (the gain boost creates a mild to pronounced resonating effect).
irsend External You can control your infrared-based devices from max. You can control color-bulbs from Ableton Live for instance.
irsend is a Max-Extension to send IR-Codes from Max or Max4Live.

You need the WinLIRC-Package and a IR-(Transmitter)-Hardware.

I recommend the IR-Toy from “Dangerous Prototypes”, but I think every Transmitter, that is supported by WinLIRC, will do it too.

WinLIRC has to run in background, so that irsend can use it.

The irsend-extension was not a lot of work, i just copy&paste the code of Transmit.exe in
a C-Max-extension.
jcom.gui Abstraction user interface component
jmod.gui is a component that is used as the background for a module when it is being designed. It is loaded in a bpatcher, and it requires an argument that matches the first argument of the jmod.hub object in the module.
jcom.round External Round-off to int value. Work with positive and negative numbers.
jit.spill External Unroll a matrix into a list
The jit.spill object outputs matrix values as a Max list, starting from a particular offset. The object will only wrap around two dimensions.
jit.sprinkle External Introduce spatial noise
The jit.sprinkle object uses a specified probability to determine the chance that a given matrix cell will be displaced by a random amount along the horizontal or vertical axes. The result is a noisy "cloud" of data surrounding the original cell values.

Libraries
EAMIR - the Electro-acoustic Musically Interactive Room
debug: SELECT prenom, nom FROM auteurs RIGHT JOIN auteur_libraries USING (id_auteur) WHERE auteur_libraries.id_library='133'V.j. Manzo The EAMIR project is an open-source effort to enable educators with technology for music education. Software is designed around a common configuration which can be easily implemented by music educators around the world by downloading source code and standalone applications through eamir.org.

Users who understand programming can edit the source code and post their new source and standalone applications back to the site for the EAMIR community to use.

Much of the EAMIR software is also designed to allow students with physical and mental disabilities to create meaningful music using interfaces that are accessible to their needs.

The EAMIR SDK allows users to easily create their own EAMIR-like applications by connecting preassembled interface modules to musical modules. The interfaces include cameras with color tracking, guitar hero controllers, wii remotes and devices, dance dance revolution pads, and other gaming controllers as well as traditional MIDI instruments like keyboards.

imp.dmx
debug: SELECT prenom, nom FROM auteurs RIGHT JOIN auteur_libraries USING (id_auteur) WHERE auteur_libraries.id_library='157'David Butler imp.dmx is a cross-platform collection of Max/MSP/Jitter abstractions for dealing with DMX data in various forms. It focuses around the use of jitter matrices to store data, which the objects then read and write to. The aim is to provide the bridge between your patch and whatever object or method you use to output DMX from Max. The abstractions use native Max objects only, excepting the Art-Net patches which use some custom java networking objects, included in the distribution package.

int.lib
debug: SELECT prenom, nom FROM auteurs RIGHT JOIN auteur_libraries USING (id_auteur) WHERE auteur_libraries.id_library='97'Oli Larkin int.lib is a set of abstractions/javascripts that lets you interpolate between different presets by navigating a 2D graphical environment. It's similar in concept to the Audiomulch Metasurface, Color blobs and the Hipnoscope but implements a gravitational system, allowing you to represent presets with variable sized balls. As you move around the space, the size of the balls and their proximity to the mouse cursor affects the weight of each preset in the interpolated output.

PeRColate
debug: SELECT prenom, nom FROM auteurs RIGHT JOIN auteur_libraries USING (id_auteur) WHERE auteur_libraries.id_library='5'Dan Trueman PeRColate is an open-source distribution of a variety of synthesis and signal processing algorithms for Max, MSP, and Nato. It is centered around a (partial) port of the Synthesis Toolkit (STK) by Perry Cook (Princeton) and Gary Scavone (Stanford CCRMA). Like the STK, it provides a fairly easy to use library of synthesis and signal processing functions (in C) that can be wired together to create conventional and unusual instruments. Also like the STK, it includes a variety of precompiled synthesis objects, including physical modeling, modal, and PhISM class instruments; the code for these instruments can serve as foundations for creating new instruments (one example, the blotar, is included) and can be used to teach elementary and advanced synthesis techniques. Given it's STK heritage and educational function, PeRColate is largely un-optimized, though all the objects run on a 80MHz 7100, which is pretty good. PeRColate also includes a number of objects not from the STK; some are from RTcmix and others are our own evil creations, designed to crash your computer, but only after making some kind of interesting sound or image.
ri.rotatexyz MSP objects
debug: SELECT prenom, nom FROM auteurs RIGHT JOIN auteur_libraries USING (id_auteur) WHERE auteur_libraries.id_library='170'Ryo Ikeshiro Calculates 3D coordinates after rotation around the x, y and z axes by performing matrix (mathematical, not Jitter) multiplication at signal rate. Ideal for generating signal rate panning data for use with the rotatexyz message to jit.gl.render.

Currently only available for Mac OS X 10.5 or later (Intel). The following have only been tested on Max 5.
